It is a pity that they did not make a ground Layout square. Thank you for expanding the possibilities of the test.

It's not clear why the download of the mod does not work

Quote from Scawen :Thanks, yes I am really looking forward to releasing the new physics and graphics.

One of the worst things for me is that any changes I do in the public version, I have to copy to the development version. So after any heavy session of coding, there is a lot of code merging as well. It feels like driving with the brakes on or swimming with a parachute. I am so slowed by this awful situation of maintaining two different but similar code bases.

I obviously did not know many years ago, when I separated it into two versions, that there would be MANY updates in the public version. It wasn't a situation I took lightly, it was becoming too hard to keep two versions of physics in the same code. But I had known the future, I would have taken a different decision.

So I'm looking forward to that chapter of my life to be over. It really makes it hard to add anything new and major, because there is so much code merging to be done.

I really hope that the process of development of physics will accelerate. To be honest, I don't understand anything in physics at all, but for me this is the best thing on the market. Few people can come close to your product in terms of the quality of physics. So the big question for me is what is wrong there? But you are the creator of your masterpiece, you see all the nuances. I hope that further development will not be long in coming and will not drag on for 2-10 years. I just want not much cosmetic quality in terms of visual graphics. Tire tracks on asphalt, grass and dirt. Live track, I understand that it is unrealistically difficult and will be hidden. Because there are many unfinished stages. I wish you success in all these stages. And find the best effective solutions to issues.!

Quote from ACCAkut :You do really good work with this buggy!

Thanks a lot!
It will probably be an endless project). I do little. Main hobby is drawing. Modeling work, but LFS with its car mod system took over my free time. Switched from drawing to modeling)

Fantastic work on the mod system is great! It's certainly a very long wait for new tire physics and graphics, so i don't wait for a track editor. If possible, in one of the tire physics test patches, insert the choice of coating on concrete blocks, soil. Or to a convenient place in the editor. What would be possible to lay on asphalt or grass the surface of the soil, gravel, soil.

Thanks again!!!

So far, I have started making new 3D models of the gearbox engine and drives. I decided to make a new chassis for the new buggy, from the very beginning the frame, I will try to do all the steps in detail. mounts, engine, cab, etc. plastic body kit.

Added protective mesh.
2 variants of the buggy, sports and training (appearance changes)
Not a big change in suspension design.

Quote from Racon :I've got 21 on PiranMOTOGrassRacing with 17,000 laps between them... help yourself to any of my ones for any purpose Wink (!vote to vote for track change)

Thanks a lot. The tracks are great!

Quote from Gutholz :There are only two oval tracks, for the longest time there was only one. Still people are doing oval races.
I think there are enough rallyecross tracks (including custom layouts) that there is decent places to race such buggy. It does not need roadtires in my opinion.

I was surprised how much it understeered on asphalt. Not saying if it is bad or unrealistic, honestly I have no idea, and I only tried briefly with mouse. Just when you brake from high speed and turn in a bit...you plow straight ahead. On dirt it handles better. Add some AI drivers on Blackwood Rallye or Fernbay Green, they act very surprised too. Tilt I guess it is due to all the weight at the rear.

Thanks for the answer. Yes, I know about the problems with physics, I can only model. So I would really like a track editor if it ever comes out very soon. I have about 9 simulated tracks for rf1 rallycross and winter ovals, I wanted to transfer them to rf2 but rf2 did not live up to the stated expectations. AC is a good platform, I made one track for it in the winter version, but the physics does not inspire optimism. LFS is the only platform I'm happy with and the mod system is excellent. I even intuitively understand how to model, if there are questions, I will ask. But physics is not my forte.
Through trial and error, I try to balance the properties and dynamics of the car.
I wanted road tires, because you just drive on asphalt, the car is simply uncontrollable. But stepping out of the buggy category belies the look of the car. Therefore, this category of appearance and purpose of the car stops me.

This is the same track that is in the AC. I hope someday to simulate it in LFS

I want to ask for advice. Since there are very few dirt tracks, and there is no way to put your dirt surface on the road in shift + U mode, I want to transfer the buggy class to another class where there are road tires. What class do you want to transfer to?

Made enough changes to the car. Looking forward to physics feedback. Ride enjoy.

Quote from Tomfuel :i think this buggy is too much overpowered. it is a real challenge to drive it

Update coming soon. The engine is weaker, the appearance of the body is updated

Quote from Scawen :No, that feature is not available yet.

I hope it won't be too difficult for the upper and lower wishbone as it should work quite like the trailing arm suspension. The object that provides the spring and damper force might be more difficult though. In formula cars it's really a rod that moves inward (as the spring and damper are hidden under the bodywork) but on cars like the LX it should really be a compressible spring and damper object that is not so easy to code. It'll require some experimentation as I'm not sure how bad it will look if the whole object is made to stretch and compress, which isn't quite how it works in real life, and I'm not sure what issues might come up when I try that.

Thanks! Good luck with your experiments!
Thanks again, you are great!

Quote from Scawen :The suspension tubes appear elliptical if the race class is "Formula" or "F1". It's one of those things that probably should be an independent setting, but currently is not. I think it was just the quickest way to code that when we first added a formula car.

Thanks for the answer!

Quote from Scawen :I think the better solution might be to allow suspension subobjects instead of simply allowing round/elliptical as a setting.

Can I do this now in the editor?

Please tell me how to make a cross-section of the pipe. Ellipse

For such cool projects, you need to add separate objects to the editor. Tribunes, trees, fences, spectators, marshals, various pillars, etc. You can use objects with different surfaces, grass, soil)
It may be possible to add line library objects. Source from various Blackwood tracks. There is no need to overload textures and objects inside the game.
Maybe it's not that hard ..
